Privacy Policy

You can read HuskerSnax without an account. Accounts, Snax Picks and SnaxBot collect information when you choose to use them. This policy describes the current site at HuskerSnax.com and its hosted chatgpt.site address.

Information we collect and why

• Accounts: Name, email address, an account identifier, membership level and any administrative role. Your phone number and profile photo are optional. We use this information to operate accounts, provide support and control access. Supabase handles authentication and stores password hashes; account administrators cannot view your original password.
• Snax Picks: Your selected leaderboard name, game predictions and points are linked to your account. Your own picks are available to you before kickoff. After kickoff, picks and leaderboard names can be viewed by other signed-in fans. Choose a nickname if you do not want to display your real name. Your email, phone and profile photo are not displayed on the leaderboard.
• SnaxBot: We collect the name and email you provide, your questions, replies and session information. When signed in, your name and email may prefill for you to review. Starting a chat sends those details to HuskerSnax. Chat transcripts, including your contact details, are emailed to management at info@huskersnax.com for support and review.
• Technical information: Hosting and security services receive information such as IP address, browser/device details, requests and errors. Chat limits use protected hashes derived from your IP address and a browser identifier. Google Analytics collects website usage information on pages where it is loaded.
• Preferences: The site reads your device’s time zone and can save your selected time zone locally. Football forecasts use the game venue’s location, not your precise device location.

AI processing

SnaxBot sends your question, recent conversation context and relevant published site information to OpenAI to generate a reply. Name and email fields are not intentionally included in the model prompt, but anything you type in a message can be sent. Do not enter passwords, payment information, sensitive personal information or someone else’s private information. Responses are requested with API response storage disabled; this does not mean all provider security or abuse-monitoring records are disabled. See OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.

Cookies, local storage and embedded content

Supabase stores sign-in session information in browser storage. Chat uses a session cookie lasting up to one day and a browser-identification cookie lasting up to one year for session security and usage limits. Chat inactivity limits are shorter than these cookie lifetimes. Selected time-zone preferences remain in local storage until changed or cleared.

Google Analytics uses cookies and related technologies to understand visits. YouTube embeds, including the header video, may connect to Google when a page loads or a video plays. Privacy-enhanced YouTube embeds are not a promise of zero data collection. reCAPTCHA processes browser and interaction information for abuse prevention when the chat is opened. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser. Blocking them may prevent sign-in or chat from working. Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. The site does not currently provide a site-wide cookie-consent preference panel.

Who receives information

HuskerSnax management and authorized administrators can access information needed to operate and support the site. Service providers include Supabase (accounts, profiles and picks), Sites and Cloudflare (hosting, security and chat records), OpenAI (AI answers), Resend (account emails and chat transcripts), and Google (analytics, reCAPTCHA and YouTube). These services may process information in the United States and other countries. Providers’ own terms and privacy practices also apply. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect accounts or respond to a security incident.

External article links, embedded videos and the athletics donation link lead to services operated by others. Their privacy policies govern information you provide to them.

Retention and security

Account profiles and picks remain stored until removed through account administration or a verified deletion request, subject to necessary legal, security and dispute records. Profile photos are stored in a private bucket and are not offered as a public member directory.

Chat database records older than 30 days become eligible for routine cleanup once no email delivery is pending. Cleanup runs during site activity, so deletion may occur later. Emailed transcripts, provider records and backups have separate retention and are not erased when a chat times out. We have not established a uniform automatic deletion period for those copies.

Access restrictions, encrypted connections and authentication help protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You can edit your name and optional phone number, replace or remove your photo, sign out, or stop using optional features. To request account closure, access, correction or deletion, email info@huskersnax.com. We may verify that you control the account before responding. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply; we will handle requests as required by applicable law. Do not email your password or verification codes.

Children

HuskerSnax is a general-audience sports site. Accounts, chat and prediction participation are not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and arrange appropriate removal.
